The website has launched. We expect to buy a premium domain name and upgrade hosting within the month. Expect the site to grow slowly, as we are all busy with other things. This site is a passion and we look to work on it for a couple hours a day. We have already put in 1000 hours of research into toxic plants. We continue to look at toxic plants, and trust me, there are tons of them. It is so interesting to learn about each of them. We are going to start putting entries up, which, some of these will have to be edited on as we go. I am not the best writer, but I am the one in charge of monitoring the site. if you find grammar errors, please let me know. Once we have enough entries and the number of people that view the site increases, then we will be hiring several positions, one position will be an editor. We will do all of the science and research, but we will need a professional writer to edit all posts, past and future. If you are interested in being an editor for our site, then please send us a email with contact information. Please be sure to check back frequently. Once we are at that point when we are ready to hire, you will see a job page on the site. We will of course make several announcements on the site, Facebook, Twitter, and linkedin. As of now, we do not have any more details other than the need of future help.
My name is Darrel W. Dees. I am very passionate about education. I teach Biology at the high school level. I am currently working on my Masters degree. There are many websites out there that offer information over toxic plants; however, our goal is to create a one stop data base for all things toxic plants. People get injured every year, because they do not recognize mimics of plants, how to identify local toxic plants, and so on. Our hope is that, through this data base, people will become educated on plants and all the good and bad that come with them. We focus on toxic information, but for completeness, we try to add fun stuff too! This is a website of passion and I enjoy every second of it.
